Yellowstone Select Bourbon. Image courtesy Limestone Branch Distillery. This is the second Yellowstone Bourbon release from Kentucky’s Limestone Branch Distillery, though it uses whiskey sources from other distilleries while Limestone Branch’s own whiskey matures. The nose is light and smooth with hints of leather, pipe tobacco, charred oak, orange peel, muted spices, and vanilla. The taste is spicy with clove, cinnamon, and black pepper notes – well-rounded with honey and brown sugar underneath, along with touches of black cherries, citrus, and oak. The finish is dry with lingering spices, caramel candy, and a hint of brown sugar. (April, 2016)
