Woodford Reserve Baccarat Edition. Image courtesy Woodford Reserve/Brown-Forman.Likely to be one of the most expensive Bourbons around, with a recommended retail price of $2,000 per decanter, this limited edition takes fully-matured Woodford Reserve Bourbon and gives it an extra three years in XO Cognac casks from France before being bottled in a bespoke Baccarat crystal decanter. The nose has notes of dark fruits, cocoa beans, a nice oakiness, freshly-ground vanilla beans, and subtle spices. The taste starts off with dried fruits followed by hints of clove, cinnamon, and allspice complemented by dark chocolate, toasted caramel, vanilla, and a subtle oakiness in the background. Subtle spices linger nicely on the long finish along with touches of baking chocolate, caramel, and a hint of fruity character. Wow! (October, 2020)
