Thompson Brothers 2009 Speyside Single Cask

Country: Scotland

Region: Speyside

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Thompson Brothers

ABV: 54.7%

Score: 89 Points

This 12-year-old ex-Sherry octave cask was bottled for London’s Melody whisky bar, and the nose has notes of figs, dates, toffee, black tea, and hints of brown sugar and honey. The taste has a very thick mouthfeel with touches of licorice, honey, toffee, baking spices, and a hint of lemon for a cough syrup-like flavor – this would work very well in a Hot Toddy. The finish is long and spicy with a hint of lemon. (February, 2022)
