Stranahan's Diamond Peak. Image courtesy Stranahan's/Proximo Spirits. While this single malt from Stranahan’s Distillery in Denver carries no age statement, all of the whiskey used in Diamond Peak is at least four years old. The nose has notes of dark chocolate, fudge, honey, vanilla, and soft spices. The taste is spicier, with clove and black pepper notes complemented well by fudge, dark chocolate, honey, and a hint of spearmint. The finish is long, slightly dry, and gently fading with good spicy touches. Very nice! (June, 2016)
