Steel Bonnets Blended Malt. Image courtesy The Lakes Distillery. This unique whisky from The Lakes Distillery in England is a blend of the distillery’s own single malt with several malt whiskies from Scotland. The nose has notes of ginger snap cookies, apricots, vanilla, and a touch of campfire smoke. The taste has a good balance of nuttiness and spices with touches of almond oil, ginger root, nutmeg, dried fruits, and a subtle hint of campfire smoke. The finish is long and slightly smoky with a gentle nuttiness. (February, 2019)
