Starward Two-Fold Double Grain Australian Whisky. Image courtesy Starward Distillery. This is a unique Australian whisky made from a blend of Starward’s own single malt and wheat whiskey matured in Australian red wine casks. The nose is aromatic with notes of brandy, barley sugar, bread dough, honey, caramel, and brown sugar. The taste is crisp and clean with a good mouthfeel and subtle touches of baking spices along with honey, vanilla, butterscotch candies, caramel, and touches of tree fruits and fresh berries in the background. The finish is long and gentle with subtle spices and hints of caramel, butterscotch, and brown sugar. Excellent! (August, 2019)
