Speyburn 18. Image courtesy Speyburn. This Speyside single malt is matured in a combination of Spanish and American oak casks, and the nose is sweet and luscious with hints of toffee, grilled pineapple, coconut, almonds, and a hint of honeycomb. The taste is tart and spicy with a kiss of smoke and citrus fruits, toffee, baking chocolate, and a slight hint of oak. The finish is long, complex, and well-rounded. Very nice! (July, 2019)
