This Samuel Maverick expression is distilled at Maverick Spirits in San Antonio, and the nose is earthy and spicy with baking spice, dark honey, pecans, a hint of dill, peaches, and red apples. The taste is thick, oily, and spicy with black pepper, a hint of pecan pie, peaches, red apple, and honey. Water opens up the flavor with amped-up spices, tree fruits, and an earthiness in the background. The finish is long with lingering spice and a fruity character.
