Sagamore Spirit worked with Destihl Brewery in Illinois on this Brewer’s Select release, and finished its Rye whiskey in barrels previously filled with Destihl’s Imperial Stout beer. The nose has notes of hazelnut, baking chocolate, caramel ice cream topping, toasted oak and subtle hints of baking spices. The taste is sweet with caramel and dark chocolate, along with hints of oatmeal, black cherries, and baking spices. The finish is long and spicy with hints of dark chocolate and toasted oak.
