Overeem Port Cask Matured Cask Strength Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky. Image courtesy Australian Whisky Holdings. This Tasmanian single malt is around 6 years old, and the nose has notes of red grapes, a hint of brandy, Christmas cake, toasted coconut, and muted baking spices. The taste is tart and spicy with Christmas cake, allspice, cinnamon, coconut, and nutmeg with hints of honey and toasted oak in the background. Water opens up fruity and floral touches on the nose, while taming the spices slightly on the palate. The finish is slightly dry and dusty with dried fruits, lingering spices, and a touch of oak shavings. Wow! (August, 2019)
