This Octomore edition uses barley grown on Islay’s Octomore Farm and is peated to 129.3 parts per million of phenols, with maturation in a combination of first-fill American whiskey and second-fill European Oak casks. The nose has a gentle smokiness with hints of green apples, honey, vanilla, and brown sugar. The taste has a good peatiness with a hint of brine and touches of green apples, creosote, vanilla, brown sugar, and honey. The finish is long with a gentle smokiness and touches of grilled fruits, sea salt, and honey. (September, 2022)
