This Oregon single malt was matured for six years in Oregon Oak and finished for four months in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks. The nose has touches of leather and pipe tobacco balanced by black tea, a hint of hazelnuts, and a nice touch of peat smoke in the background. The taste has notes of berry preserves, baking spices, a touch of baking chocolate, and peat smoke rises from the background leading into the finish with a touch of charred oak. Nice!
