This 6-year-old rye is made with 95% rye from Colorado’s San Luis Valley and 5% malted barley. The nose is spicy and aromatic with charred oak, baking spices, and hints of eucalyptus and menthol. The taste is thick, chewy, and well-balanced with excellent spices, honey, vanilla, a touch of oak tannins, salted caramel, and hints of eucalyptus and menthol throat lozenges. Water smooths out the spices and adds complexity with touches of cocoa and espresso beans. The finish is long and spicy. Wow! (June, 2021)
