The nose has a light smokiness with sweet notes of honey, brown sugar, heather, and butterscotch that don’t give any hints of what’s coming. The taste is smoky, peppery, and thick with a strong peatiness, a hint of iodine, wet briny sand, peppercorns, honey, and a touch of butterscotch that starts to come out as the smoke begins to fade. The finish has a lingering smokiness to balance the butterscotch along with touches of brine and honey. Wow! (October, 2016)
