Johnnie Walker Blenders' Batch Wine Cask Finish. Image courtesy Johnnie Walker/Diageo. This edition – as can be inferred from the name – is finished in wine casks, but was blended as a lighter alternative to the traditional Johnnie Walker house style as well. The nose is fruity with raspberries, a hint of strawberries, peaches, red apples, and apricot notes along with a nice maltiness. The taste is fruity with a good underlying allspice note and dried flowers, red apples, and fresh raspberries. The finish is long and fruity with a lingering hint of allspice in the background creating a very nice balance. (September, 2017)
