Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Bourbon Cask & Rye Finish. Image courtesy Diageo. This travel retail exclusive takes whiskies from five distilleries, including Dufftown and the old Port Dundas grain distillery, matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks and finished for several months in Rye whiskey casks. The nose is fruity and fresh with notes of apricots, peaches, vanilla, honey, muted spices, and a hint of dried flowers. The taste has warm spices with clove and a hint of cinnamon, black tea with honey, vanilla, dark chocolate, and a touch of oak. The finish is medium-length with gently fading spices, a touch of honey, and vanilla. (May, 2017)
