John Walker & Sons Odyssey. Image courtesy Johnnie Walker/Diageo. This whisky was created by Johnnie Walker master blender Dr. Jim Beveridge using three distinct and rare single malts, making it a Blended Malt Scotch Whisky instead of a Blended Scotch.

The nose has hints of mango, mandarin orange, papaya, clover honey, a kiss of smoke, and a hint of caramel candy. The taste starts off honey-sweet at first, followed by a touch of cinnamon that doesn’t overpower the sweetness. Hints of tropical fruits come on as the spice fades, making this a very complex and changing dram. The finish is long and subtle with mango, banana, and coconut notes on top of honey sweetness with a lingering hint of spice. (February, 2014)
