J.P. Wiser's 23 Year Old 2019 Edition. Photo ©2020, Mark Gillespie/CaskStrength Media. This is one of the 2019 releases in the Northern Border Collection series of special releases, and is the first Wiser’s blend on record to be bottled at cask-strength. The nose has soft baking spices, hints of furniture polish and old wood, brown sugar, and touches of butterscotch and licorice. The taste has notes of black tea with honey, baking spices in good balance with a subtle pepperiness, and a hint of maple sweetness. The finish is long with lingering spices, honey, vanilla, and a hint of anise. Excellent! (January, 2020)
