Highland Park 40

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 48.3%

Score: 92 Points

Highland Park 40. Image courtesy Highland Park. This is one of the oldest Highland Park expressions that can be found relatively easily (if not inexpensively), as the distillery releases a new batch each year. The nose has notes of cedar smoke, dark honey, toffee, and fudge. The taste has notes of licorice, old wet leather, pipe tobacco, clove, and eucalyptus oil that provide a very complex and challenging palate. The finish is long and dry with notes of toffee, clove, old wet leather, and oak. Excellent! (May, 2017)
