High West Bourye. Image courtesy High West Distillery.Bourye is High West’s annual release that blends straight Bourbons and Rye whiskies distilled at MGP, with this year’s release being matured for between 11 and 14 years. The nose on this year’s release reminds me of a Snickers candy bar with caramel, nuts, and chocolate,  along with mulled wine spices and a touch of oak. The taste starts off fruity, followed by spicier notes of clove and chili powder balanced by caramel and a touch of nuttiness. The finish is long with gently fading spices and just a hint of caramel candy. Excellent! (April, 2018)
