Master distiller Jim Rutledge blended High Plains from rye whiskies distilled in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and New York. The nose is aromatic with touches of baking spices, molasses, brown sugar, apple cobbler, and a hint of oak. The taste is spicy with a nice underlying sweetness and touches of clove, black pepper and cinnamon complemented by red apples, brown sugar, and a hint of molasses. The finish has lingering spices, hints of dried apples, honey, and caramel. Very nice. (September, 2021)
