Hanyu 2000 Single Cask

Country: Japan

Region:

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: La Maison du Whisky

ABV: 59%

Score: 94 Points

This ex-Sherry hogshead single cask is available exclusively through La Maison du Whisky in Paris.

The nose is aromatic, warm, and sweet with a good maltiness, caramel candy, fudge, honey, brown sugar, and touches of plums and raisins in the background. The taste is thick and spicy with cinnamon, clove, linseed oil, and anise notes that fade slowly to reveal a hint of butterscotch and a slight mintiness in the background. The finish is long, rich, and mouth-coating with subtle spices. Outstanding! (September, 2015)
