This barrel selected by Frey Ranch founders Colby and Ashley Frey has touches of pipe tobacco, honey, vanilla, caramel, and muted spices on the nose. The taste is led by an explosion of spices on the palate with black pepper, chili powder, and mesquite. Dried fruits and honey come out as the spices fade, along with hints of black cherries and caramel. Water adds to the fruity character along with a touch of straw. The finish is long and dry with lingering spices. (September, 2021)
