DIngle Single Malt Whiskey Batch #4 Cask Strength. Image courtesy Dingle Whiskey. This whiskey will be much harder to find than the regular Dingle Batch #4, since only 500 bottles were produced. The nose is rich and malty with notes of barley sugar, honey, caramel, toasted bread with raspberry jam, and a hint of red grapes. The taste is thick and spicy with black pepper, cinnamon, and allspice balanced by honey, vanilla, caramel, raspberry jam, and a subtle oakiness. Water boosts the fruitiness and opens up a hint of dried flowers on the nose, while softening the spices at first on the palate and accentuating the fruitiness – but only delaying the spicy burst until the end. The long finish has a good balance of spices and fruitiness. Excellent! (May, 2019)
