Dewar's Caribbean Smooth Blended Scotch Whisky. Image courtesy John Dewar & Sons/Bacardi.This 8-year-old Blended Scotch is finished in Rum casks, and is the first cask-finished Dewar’s expression. The nose has notes of banana, coconut, pineapple, a hint of molasses, toasted oak, butterscotch, and a subtle maltiness in the background. The taste is fruity with touches of grilled pineapple, coconut, and banana balanced by hints of white pepper, ginger root, lemon zest, and a bit of molasses in the background that adds a nice complexity. The finish is long and citrusy with a subtle hint of smokiness. (September, 2019)
