Crown Royal Cornerstone Blend. Image courtesy Crown Royal/Diageo.This 2016 release is the first in a new series of annual limited-edition releases in the Crown Royal Noble Collection range, and blends spicy Canadian Rye with creamier whisky from a continuous Coffey Still and Bourbon-style whisky matured in charred American Oak casks.

The result is a whisky with a creamy, smooth nose and mild spicy notes of nutmeg, ginger and a hint of clove balanced by sweeter French toast and maple syrup notes. The taste has good spicy clove, nutmeg, and a hint of cinnamon, along with licorice, maple, oak, and a hint of butterscotch in the background. The finish is long and smooth with gently fading spices and a nice touch of oak. (June, 2016)
