Producing WhiskyCast has given me the opportunity to taste some really amazing whiskies, and I’m pleased to share my tasting notes with you here. You can search my entire database of tasting notes from this page, and I hope you’ll find it useful.
This whiskey is the result of a collaboration between the Bardstown Bourbon Company and Louisville’s Copper & Kings Distillery. Bardstown Bourbon provided the 10-year-old Bourbon distilled at MGP in Indiana, which was finished for 18 months in Copper & Kings Brandy barrels in their Louisville warehouse before being bottled at cask strength.
The nose has notes of red grapes, oak, brown sugar, pipe tobacco, and caramel. The taste is tart, fruity, and peppery with cinnamon and clove spices, plums, blackberries, red grapes, brown sugar, and a nice oakiness. The finish is subtle and dry. (January, 2018)
