Clynelish Special Reserve

Region: Highlands

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 54.9%

Score: 85 Points

Clynelish Special Reserve. Image courtesy Diageo. Part of Diageo’s Classic Malts 2014 Special Releases, and the first in that series to have no age statement or vintage. The nose has a good balance of spices with apple pie, graham crackers, honey, and a touch of oak. The taste is spicy with cinnamon, clove, and allspice notes that fade very slowly to reveal apple pie, pencil shavings, and a hint of licorice. The finish is dry with a touch of licorice, a slight ashiness, and oak. (January, 2015)
