The team at Blue Run Spirits selected 91 barrels for this no-age-statement Kentucky Straight Rye. The nose is spicy and aromatic with notes of honey and caramel balancing baking spices and a tub of charred oak. The taste has spicy notes of clove, cinnamon, and chili powder complemented by apples, cocoa, honey, and a touch of wintergreen. Water opens up touches of dried fruits and boosts the wintergreen a bit. The finish is medium-length and dry with lingering spices, a hint of brown sugar, and honey. Excellent! (August, 2021)
