Country: Scotland

Region: Speyside

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 46%

Score: 93 Points

BenRiach’s Rachel Barrie blended this single malt from a combination of ex-Bourbon, Sherry, virgin oak, and Bordeaux red wine casks using both peated and unpeated spirit. The nose has a kiss of smoke along with toasted oak, butterscotch, honey, dried flowers, and tree fruits. The taste has notes of toasted vanilla with a light hint of smoke, grilled fruits, baking chocolate, subtle spices, and a hint of toasted marshmallows. Adding water opens up woody notes of pine needles and sap, sandalwood, and a hint of honey. The finish is very long with gentle spices, toasted oak, a hint of smoke, and grilled fruits.
