Country: Scotland

Region: Islay

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 46%

Score: 93 Points

This Ardbeg expression is only available in travel retail and at the distillery shop on Islay, and is matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon and Manzanilla Sherry casks. The nose is peaty and phenolic with hints of creosote and iodine along with heather, honey, and dried fruits. The taste starts off fruity and sweet at first with a slow onset of peaty smokiness and touches of grilled fruits, honey, and heather. The finish is long with a sweet, barbecue-like smokiness.
