Laphroaig Cairdeas 2008 Limited Edition

Country: Scotland

Region: Islay

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 55%

Score: 87 Points

This is the first Cairdeas expression from Laphroaig, bottled for Friends of Laphroaig members and the 2008 Feis Ile from a set of quarter casks. The nose is sweeter than most Laphroaigs, with muted peat and medicinal notes. The taste has a lemon peel tartness, along with toffee, nuts and subtle notes of peat and brine underneath. Rich and smooth, very thick. The finish has caramel and cola notes and is sweet and dry.
