These notes are for the Fercullen Italian Gardens Estate Series 2 released in 2022, with Amarone casks used to finish the blend of 19 year-old malt whiskey with grain whiskey. The nose has touches of plums, figs, a nice maltiness, burnt caramel, honey, and toffee. The taste is thick with a slowly building flavor of dry spices, toffee, plums, and dates. Dry spices dominate the finish with dark fruits underneath. Very nice! (October, 2022)
