This Paul John annual release comes from a complex combination of ex-Bourbon barrels, Oloroso peated casks, and brandy casks. The nose has touches of baked apples and peaches, dry spices, a hint of baking chocolate, honey, and vanilla. The taste has a mild peatiness with orange peel, dark chocolate, and white pepper. The finish has touches of plums, dark chocolate, and a hint of hazelnut. Very nice. (November, 2022)
