Country: Ireland

Region:

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Kinsale Spirits Co.

ABV: 43%

Score: 91 Points

This Irish single malt from the Kinsale Spirit Co. celebrates the Battle of Kinsale in 1601-1602, and is finished in a combination of Appleton Rum casks from Jamaica and Imperial Stout beer casks. The nose is very malty with touches of citrus fruits, orange peel, lemon zest, ginger, dried grass clippings, milk chocolate, and brown sugar. The taste has notes of chocolate-covered oranges, dried fruits, and hints of rum, figs, and raisins. The finish is long and gentle. (March, 2022)
