Slane Special Edition

Country: Ireland

Region:

Type: Irish Whiskey

Bottler: Slane Castle Distillery/Brown-Forman

ABV: 45%

Score: 92 Points

This limited edition release marks the 40th anniversary of the Slane Castle concert series, and uses a higher percentage of new American Oak casks in the blend along with being bottled at a higher strength than the standard Slane Irish Whiskey. The nose is aromatic with touches of caramel, crystallized ginger, dried fruits, and vanilla. The taste has a nice spiciness with a thick, chewy mouthfeel and touches of ginger, honey, and vanilla, while the finish is long and fruity.
