The Andrews family operates Fleurieu Distillery on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula south of Adelaide, and this bottling for That Boutique-y Whisky Company was matured for three years in an ex-Sherry Spanish Oak cask. The nose is malty with touches of figs, dried fruits, and a hint of beefy character in the background with a slight earthiness as well. The taste is spicy with notes of clove and cinnamon on top of lemon zest, barley sugar, honey, dried fruits, and a hint of figs. The finish is long, spicy, and meaty…a very substantial dram!
