Swilled Dog Barrel Strength Bourbon

Country: USA

Region:

Type: Bourbon

Bottler: Swilled Dog Spirits

ABV: 58.5%

Score: 91 Points

Swilled Dog Spirits in West Virginia is known mainly for its hard ciders, but has expanded into whiskey with sourced Bourbons and Ryes. This barrel-strength Bourbon has notes of caramel, cocoa powder, oak, brown sugar, and vanilla on the nose. The taste is spicy with cinnamon, black pepper, and allspice balanced by hints of honey, red apples, and brown sugar in the background. Adding water opens up fruity touches of peaches and apricots, along with a touch of baking chocolate. The finish is long with spices that fade away slowly. (July, 2021)
