Dalmunach is the newest Chivas Brothers distillery, and independent bottlings like this one are still very rare. This 5-year-old single malt comes from a first-fill ex-Bourbon barrel. The nose is intense and aromatic with touches of toasted marshmallows, butterscotch, coconut, lemon zest, a hint of mango, and a subtle touch of oak. The taste has caramel candy and butterscotch sweetness along with touches of citrus fruits, subtle spices, and a hint of oak. The finish is long and dry with a nice balance of subtle spices and sweetness. (July, 2021)
