This whisky is distilled at the Masahiro Distillery on Okinawa using 100% long-grain Indica rice and a combination of traditional yeast and indigenous Black Koji-style fermentation, with maturation in a combination of ex-Bourbon, Sherry, and virgin European Oak casks. The taste has notes of baked peaches, coconut cream pie, soft spices, toffee, and touches of oak, pine sap, and cedar shavings. The taste has subtle spices with brown sugar, linseed oil, and hints of licorice and mint. The finish is long with lingering spices and hints of pine sap and oak. Excellent! (August, 2021)
