Cadenhead’s highlighted this Swedish single malt from High Coast during a 2021 online warehouse tasting for the virtual version of the Campbeltown Malts Festival. It was distilled in 2012 and matured for 7 years in American Oak, with a combination of 90% unpeated spirit and 10% peated spirit for just a kiss of smokiness. The nose is vibrant and tart with tropical notes of mango, papaya, and grapefruit along with hints of wood spice, honey, and vanilla. The taste is nectar-thick, fruity, and tart with tropical fruits, ginger, cinnamon, and adding water boosts the sweetness even more. The finish is long and fruity with just a hint of spice. Excellent! (July, 2021)
