Benriach The Twenty Five. Image courtesy BenRiach/Brown-Forman.This whisky comes from a blend of peated and unpeated spirit matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon, Sherry, Madeira, and Virgin Oak casks, and the nose is aromatic with touches of black cherries, apricots, dark chocolate, toffee, and a subtle oakiness. The taste has a nice balance of baking spices, apple cobbler, a hint of orange peel, and toasted caramel. The finish is long with a kiss of smoke and toasted caramel. Very nice! (February, 2021)
