PM Spirits Project Arran 8 French Oak Cask. Image courtesy PM Spirits. This single malt was distilled in 2011 at Arran and matured in the Cognac region of France (and the label was printed while the whisky wasn’t quite ready, which is why it says 7 years when the whisky is 8 years old). The nose is fruity and floral with a subtle peatiness that gives the feeling of a smoky leaf pile in the fall. Touches of peach cobbler and brown sugar add character as well. The taste is well-rounded and complex with a nice touch of citrusy tartness, peat smoke, brown sugar, and dried fruits. The finish is long with a gentle smokiness and a touch of fruit. Very nice!
