Springbank Local Barley 2009 Batch 1. Image courtesy Springbank/J&A Mitchell & Co. This 10-year-old single malt comes from barley grown in the Campbeltown area, and the nose is soft and gentle with a nice maltiness and hints of lemon zest, brine, and smoked salmon. The taste is tart, briny, and spicy with a hint of peat smoke and touches of lemon zest, grilled pineapple, brine, and a hint of dried flowers. The finish is long and tart with a kiss of smoke. Excellent! (March, 2020)
