J.P. Wiser's Seven Rebels. Image courtesy Corby Spirit & Wine. This whisky was released exclusively in British Columbia, and uses a complex recipe of seven different distillates finished in a combination of Virgin Oak and ex-Speyside malt whisky casks from Scotland. The nose has gentle spices with notes of vanilla, honey, and butterscotch, as well as a hint of orange marmalade. The taste is rich and spicy at first with notes of clove, white pepper, and cardamom that fade to reveal sweeter touches of dried fruits, butterscotch, and orange marmalade. The finish is smooth and subtle with lingering spices, dried fruits, and hints of butterscotch and caramel. Very nice! (January, 2020)
