Glenfiddich Grand Cru. Image courtesy Glenfiddich/William Grant & Sons. This single malt is matured for 23 years in a combination of European and American casks. It is one of the few “finished” Glenfiddich whiskies, with a final finishing period in French Oak cuvée casks used for sparkling wine from a well-known region of France. The nose has a nice maltiness with a hint of green grapes and fresh fruit, dried flowers, and a hint of vanilla. The taste is fruity and nearly effervescent with tropical fruits, green grapes, dried flowers, honey, and a hint of maltiness. The finish is long, bubbly, and vibrant with touches of tropical fruits and green grapes. Very nice! (September, 2019)
