Sullivan's Cove American Oak Tawny Cask #TD282. Photo ©2019, Mark Gillespie/CaskStrength Media.Tawny is Australia’s native version of Port, and this whisky was matured in an American Oak ex-Tawny cask for 11 years. The nose is dry, dusty, and complex with notes of toasted oak, vanilla, muted spices, and just a hint of honey. The taste has a good balance of dried fruits and pepperiness with touches of honey, vanilla, and toasted coconut in the background. The finish is long and dry with subtle spices, honey, and coconut. Very nice. (August, 2019)
