New Riff Bottled in Bond Rye Whiskey. Image courtesy New Riff Distilling. Just as they did with the 2018 release of a Bottled in Bond Bourbon, New Riff’s distilling team waited four long years to bring out their first Rye whiskey. The nose has notes of baking spices, cocoa powder, hints of molasses and brown sugar, and a subtle touch of oak. The taste starts off with a touch of chocolate at first, followed by a burst of chili powder and allspice while hints of brown sugar and molasses add complexity in the background. The finish is long and smooth with cocoa and lingering spices. Very nice. (May, 2019)
