Producing WhiskyCast has given me the opportunity to taste some really amazing whiskies, and I’m pleased to share my tasting notes with you here. You can search my entire database of tasting notes from this page, and I hope you’ll find it useful.
This is the first release from Bardstown Bourbon Company with the distillery’s own whiskey in it. 42% comes from a 25-month-old high-rye mashbill, while 18% comes from a 27-month-old wheated Bourbon mashbill. The remaining 40 percent is sourced 11-year-old Bourbon from another Kentucky distillery.
The nose has notes of nuts, caramel, dried fruits, muted spices, and touches of honey and vanilla. The taste has a good balance of fruitiness and spices with orange, apples, baking spices, and hints of nuts, vanilla, and honey in the background. The finish has good lingering notes of fruits and spices. (April, 2019)
