BenRiach 2005 Single Cask #2683. Image courtesy BenRiach/Brown-Forman.This is a 12-year-old peated single malt matured in a refill ex-Bourbon barrel and finished in a Port cask. The nose has a soft smokiness with touches of plums, raisins, and other dark fruits along with a hint of Christmas cake. The taste is smoky, spicy, and tart with grilled pineapple, white pepper, allspice, and hints of honey and plums in the background. The finish is long with a subtle smokiness, fading spices, and a touch of dark fruits. (March, 2018)
